Since
its beginning in 1994, the purpose of the Indian River Symphonic
Association has been to bring quality symphonic music to
the Indian River area, for the cultural enrichment, education
and enjoyment of the community at large.

In
its early years, the Association worked to bring the Brevard
Symphony Orchestra (BSO) to perform at the Community Church
of Vero Beach. The BSO still is the primary partner in our
efforts, while we have continually grown the number and
profile of the visiting orchestras.
Bringing
internationally renowned symphony orchestras to Vero Beach
proved to be a very popular move, and attendance grew quickly
from the first concerts. The Indian River Symphonic Association
has been able to present concerts in Vero Beach by many
of the best international orchestras, including the Moscow
Philharmonic, Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Bolshoi Symphony,
BBC Orchestra of London, Cincinnati Symphony, Royal Philharmonic,
Pittsburgh Symphony, and the Munich Symphony, to name only
a few.
Each year the Association solicits season subscriptions, offered at a discount to the prices of individual concert tickets.
Although we reserve a limited number of seats for sale to single concert ticket buyers, we encourage the purchase
of the series because the availability of single concert seats is not guaranteed. Donations from our subscribers and
patrons make possible our Children's Concerts and the scholarship program for graduating high-school students,
committed to a music major in college. Donations also supplement the revenues from the sale of tickets, allowing
an ambitious schedule of visiting orchestras and soloists.
